Description
In *Paris 1919*, Margaret MacMillan recounts the negotiations and the outcome of the Treaty of Versailles, as well as the people who redrew the map of the world. Wilson, Lloyd George, and Clemenceau sat at the negotiating table, but thousands of other men and women gathered there as well: kings, ministers, journalists, and lobbyists all came to Paris to advance their own interests. In *Paris 1919*, which has won numerous international awards, Margaret MacMillan not only paints a portrait of those pivotal events in 1919 but also traces the origins of the modern world as we know it today.
