Cookies

The SURFspot website uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer's hard drive whenever you visit SURFspot. Cookies allow us to make your visit more enjoyable, for example by showing you items from the range that interest you personally, or preventing you from seeing or having to enter the same information over and over again.

Dutch law prescribes that we must explicitly ask your permission for the use of non-functional cookies (a so-called ‘opt-in’ policy). When visiting SURFspot, we ask you to give your permission for the storage of cookies. We also provide information on the types of cookies that are stored. However, the tool does not give you the option to deny permission. SURFspot is currently working on a technical solution to allow visits to the site without storing cookies when permission is not given.

You can turn off cookies by adjusting your browser settings. To do so, please consult the help option and/or settings of your browser: Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari. Without cookies, the SURFspot website will not work at its best.

We believe it is important for you to know which cookies SURFspot uses and why. We aim to offer you a user-friendly online store while also guaranteeing your privacy. SURF uses the following types of cookies:

New Relic
This tool monitors whether the online store is fast enough, stable enough, and whether it causes any errors. It belongs to the category of ‘functional cookies’, and does not store any personal data. Only anonymous data is collected on the browser version, the website's speed, and on any error messages.

Magento (session/shopping cart)
These cookies are called ‘session cookies’ and are used to keep track of your shopping basket and your own settings.

Zopim
Used by Zopim to save the Zopim Live Chat ID.

Saml (SURFconext)
Cookies that are used for the authentication and identification of customers.

Piwik
SURFspot uses Piwik to monitor visits to the website. Only SURFspot has access to the data collected by Piwik – none of it is made available to third parties.
