SURFspot as part of SURF
SURFspot is part of SURF. SURF is a cooperative association of Dutch education and research institutions in which members join forces. Within SURF, universities, universities of applied sciences, vocational education institutions, university medical centres and research institutions work together to purchase or develop the best possible digital services and to encourage knowledge sharing through ongoing innovation. The members own SURF.
What does SURFspot do?
In 2000, SURFspot took over the distribution of software licences from various educational institutions. This made it easy for staff and students to continue using software with education discounts. Over the years, SURFspot has expanded its ICT range with software products and online learning resources. Since 1 July 2025, we have stopped offering hardware and now focus exclusively on software and e-learning.
